Abstract
L’auteur souhaite apporter sa contribution dans le sens du dépassement de « l’impuissance et de la morosité » qui existe chez bon nombre de travailleurs sociaux. À l’aide d’éléments d’analyses théoriques et d’expériences collectives, il résume sa trajectoire professionnelle et militante. Cette dernière est marquée par des tentations de convergences entre l’action collective au niveau des usagers (= action communautaire) et celle au niveau des salariés des institutions sociales (= action syndicale). Il s’ensuit des réflexions sur la construction d’une mémoire collective commune entre le « mouvement ouvrier et syndical » et les « nouveaux mouvements sociaux ». L’article se termine par une histoire de cas : la lutte menée par les travailleurs sociaux dans le cadre de la réorganisation de l’assistance à Genève touchant tant le contenu que les conditions de travail.
