Dans les villes ivoiriennes comme dans la plupart des villes africaines, le foncier constitue un enjeu capital pour le bâti. Même les zones souvent dites non constructibles suscitent de plus en plus d’intérêt. Dans la ville de Bouaké, la lutte pour la conquête des bas-fonds entre bâti et agriculture prend de l’ampleur. D’une part, le bâti qui manifeste le désir de s’approprier les bas-fonds use de tous les moyens. Et d’autre part, une activité agricole pratiquée depuis des décennies qui grâce au savoir-faire et aux stratégies des citadins-agriculteurs compte bien se pérenniser dans ces zones humides de la ville.
