Abstract
Les réfugiés ont plus tendance à se disperser sur l’ensemble du territoire du pays hôte que la plupart des immigrés. L’auteur se propose de regarder comment s’effectue le processus d’intégration sociale et d’adaptation culturelle de ces étrangers établis en dehors des grandes métropoles. L’exemple choisi est celui des réfugiés d’Asie du Sud-Est vivant dans la ville de Québec. Dispersés dans l’espace mais regroupés en communautés ethniques, les réfugiés présentent une diversité de profils lorsqu’on cherche à caractériser leur intégration et leur adaptation, les deux concepts étant clairement distingués dans le cadre de cette étude.
