Abstract
Une gérontologie absorbée par la vieillesse oublie le vieillissement, et oublie que le vieillir est une piste de recherche sur la signification de toute expérience humaine. Le grand absent de la gérontologie est le temps humain concret, le mouvement qui définit toute vie humaine individuelle et collective. Une étude plus approfondie sur cette dimension de la gérontologie passe par l’analyse de son caractère de science instrumentale, par l’identification de ses balises conceptuelles et par une réflexion sur son potentiel émancipateur en tant que source de compréhension de la temporalité humaine concrète.
