L’expansion des carrières d’exploitation du phosphate dans la région de Thiès, à l’ouest du Sénégal, est source de reconfiguration territoriale et de tensions liées à l’utilisation des ressources naturelles. L’avancée du front minier sur les espaces agricoles et le déplacement des villages amènent la population riveraine à s’organiser et à développer des stratégies pour faire face aux impacts des activités extractives. Ainsi, l’article se propose d’analyser ces dynamiques territoriales à partir du site d’extraction du phosphate de Taïba dans la région de Thiès. Il s’articule autour de deux points : montrer les implications spatiales et environnementales de l’exploitation du phosphate, puis analyser les tensions entre la compagnie minière, les Industries chimiques du Sénégal et les communautés locales.
