contes et la musique traditionnelle sur les grandes scènes du monde, tout en animant des ateliers sur le conte qui font la joie de milliers d'écoliers québécois, fascinés par son riche répertoire.Il faut aussi considérer la publication de mon ouvrage Conte littéraire québécois au XIX e siècle.Essai de bibliographie critique et analytique (Fides, 1975), qui a établi le corpus du genre.Cet inventaire donnait accès à une foule de conteurs dont la production était souvent demeurée égarée dans les pages des périodiques du XIX e siècle.Le nombre de contes répertoriés -plus de 1200 -prouvait que le genre avait été beaucoup pratiqué, mais les maisons d'édition CONTINUITÉ 24 numéro cent vingt-sept D o s s i e r Grâce à des passionnés de la tradition orale, le conte connaît un important regain de popularité au Québec.Histoire en bref, de Jocelyn Bérubé à Fred Pellerin.Le nouveau souf f par Aurélien Boivin n O n parle beaucoup, depuis une vingtaine d'années, du renouveau du conte.Pour expliquer cette « résurrection », il convient d'abord d'évoquer les débuts de Jocelyn Bérubé.Dès 1972, après sa participation au Grand Cirque ordinaire, il entreprend une nouvelle carrière mariant musique et conte, qui le mène un peu partout au Québec, au Canada et aux États-Unis.Il faut aussi, bien sûr, parler du grand Alain Lamontagne, harmoniciste, podorythmiste, chanteur et conteur, qui porte ses Pionnier de la renaissance du conte au Québec, armé de son inséparable violon, Jocelyn Bérubé marie musique et parole depuis 1972.
