Abstract
La ya antigua noción de hinterland portuario está siendo sometida a revisión en un contexto contemporáneo marcado por el desarrollo generalizado de la contenerización y por la globalización de las prácticas de los grandes operadores privados del transporte y de la logística. Entre los argumentos comerciales de autoridades portuarias, los discursos científicos y la verdadera localización de los clientes, es difícil hacerse una idea de la estructura de estos espacios portuarios. El texto que aquí presentamos sobre el puerto de Barcelona pretende facilitar la comprensión de la organización de los hinterlands, a partir de un ejercicio de representación que combina diferentes indicadores, que consideramos útiles para tratar de visualizar su composición. Comprobando la importancia del hinterland de proximidad en el crecimiento del tráfico de un puerto, este texto constituye la base de un trabajo que deberá ser extendido a las situaciones de otros puertos.
