Abstract
Au sein du quartier ouvrier de Pointe-St-Charles à Montréal, le Carrefour d’éducation populaire, organisme mis sur pied et contrôlé par les citoyens, a organisé au cours des douze dernières années diverses sessions d’alphabétisation. L’article évoque les principales étapes qui ont structuré la réflexion pratique et théorique, pédagogique et politique de cette importante expérience d’alphabétisation au Québec. Dans sa dernière partie (1978) l’article rapporte de façon détaillée la méthodologie d’intervention utilisée et en dresse le bilan.
