Au Québec, le musée d’art contemporain des Laurentides et la salle Alfred-Pellan de la Maison des arts de Laval ont mené des réflexions, en matière d’art contemporain, sur les approches de médiation les plus adaptées et le rôle du médiateur en fonction des contextes d’exposition. En 2015, elles se sont étendues au contexte international, à travers la Biennale de Venise. Cet article analyse les points de comparaison entre les expertises de médiation culturelle italienne et québécoise (interactions, partage de réflexions, etc.). Il s’attache à explorer le rôle du médiateur et la place du visiteur dans le cadre de ce grand événement de tourisme culturel. Comment les publics sont-ils accompagnés afin de favoriser leur expérience de groupe ? Y a-t-il des approches et des outils de médiation à privilégier pour répondre à leurs attentes ?
