Abstract
Le « retour » de la famille élargie sur le devant de la scène où se jouent les pratiques d’accession à la propriété des ménages est aujourd’hui un fait acquis, remettant en cause le consensus établi autour de l’idée d’une désagrégation de celle-ci. L’importance de la famille dans les stratégies des ménages pour accéder à la propriété de leur résidence principale a pu être observée auprès des auto-constructeurs de leur maison individuelle qui supportent les tensions les plus fortes dans l’économie de leurs mobilisations. Pour comprendre les mécanismes à l’oeuvre à l’intérieur du réseau familial, il est nécessaire de « ramener » la famille du côté de l’économique. En situation de crise, plutôt qu’à un accroissement des « solidarités familiales », on assiste à un accroissement des négociations nécessaires entre les générations pour réaliser les transactions.
