Abstract
Pour nombre de jeunes des sociétés occidentales, le contact plus ou moins rapproché avec la mort est une voie d’entrée dans la sociabilité, une manière intime et intense de fabriquer du sens et de la valeur pour garantir une existence vécue comme problématique dans le contexte de crise des repères de nos sociétés. La mise à l’épreuve de soi, sur un mode individuel, est l’une des formes de cristallisation modernes de l’identité quand tout le reste tend à se dérober.
