Abstract
Cet article s’appuie sur une recherche qualitative visant à mieux comprendre l’expérience religieuse de jeunes croyants en contexte sécularisé. À partir de douze entretiens semi-dirigés réalisés auprès de jeunes croyants qui adhèrent à différentes traditions religieuses, l’article aborde les défis que posent l’adhésion et l’affirmation religieuse par l’entremise de : 1) la perception des représentations sociales dominantes de la religion du point de vue de jeunes croyants et 2) la perception de la réaction de leur entourage vis-à-vis leur identification en tant que croyants, de même que les stratégies déployées par ces jeunes en réponse aux représentations et réactions estimées. L’article montre que le contexte sécularisé influence de manière significative leur expérience religieuse, les jeunes étant régulièrement amenés à négocier leur identification religieuse et la pratique de leur religion.
