Nanobänder aus Helicen-artigem Graphen (HGNRs) wurden durch regioselektive photochemische Cyclodehydrochlorierung eines polychlorierten Polyphenylens synthetisiert. In ihrer Zuschrift auf S. 6309 zeigen J.-F. Morin et al., dass die HGNRs stark leuchten und im Vergleich zu anderen GNRs eine große Bandlücke aufweisen. Solche definierten helikalen GNR-Strukturen bergen zahlreiche Anwendungsmöglichkeiten in der Wirt-Gast-Chemie, der molekularen Elektronik und in Sensoren.
