Abstract
Cet article étudie les potentialités et les limites du paradigme anglo-américain de la performance. Il analyse les implications épistémologiques et méthodologiques du “performance turn” en sciences sociales, et prend en compte la critique que font les chercheurs indigènes des systèmes de connaissance occidentaux qui privilégient, marque d’impérialisme culturel, la pensée binaire et le dualisme entre l’ esprit et le corps . L’insistance sur la dimension politique fait écho aux concepts d’archive et de répertoire, de traces matérielles et de performance non-écrite, tels qu’ils sont définis par Diana Taylor, montrant les présupposés sociaux et culturels à l’œuvre derrière l’apparente neutralité de l’archive.
