Abstract
Introdução: A cirrose hepática é a consequência mais nefasta da lesão hepática crônica e progressiva. É marcada pela disfunção dos hepatócitos que leva à fibrose hepática acelerada e a distorção da vasculatura hepática. Dentre as consequências da cirrose estão as alterações cardiorrespiratórias e neuromusculares, as quais diminuem a qualidade de vida destes pacientes e geram a inatividade física. Objetivo: Revisar, na literatura científica mais atual, a influência da cirrose hepática sobre as capacidades cardiorrespiratórias e neuromusculares durante o exercício físico. Metodologia: Para a obtenção dos dados, fez-se uso de trabalhos originais publicados nas principais revistas de pesquisa que compõem a base de dados PubMed, utilizando os seguintes termos: hepatic cirrhosis, exercise, exercise capacity e strength. Foram selecionados onze artigos científicos sobre capacidade de exercício, dois sobre exercício de força e um sobre ambos os temas até abril de 2012. Considerações Finais: A cirrose hepática influencia nas capacidades cardiorrespiratórias e neuromusculares durante o exercício físico. Existe uma relação negativa entre a potência aeróbia e a produção de força com a severidade da cirrose hepática.
