On dispose pour la ville de Göttingen au XIVe s. de trois sources d'ordre fiscal éditées depuis le début du XXe s. mais jusqu'alors non exploitées en raison de la méconnaissance de leur principe de composition et de leur structure interne: deux registres de cens par habitation (Wortzins) de 1334 et 1364 et un registre d'impôt sur le revenu par feu (Schoß) de 1393/94.
