Abstract
The ability to make important life decisions -- eg, about health care or entering residential care -- is something many take for granted. But there are various ways that decision-making capacity may be compromised. At our next session, we'll explore how Nova Scotia law determines whether one is capable of making decisions about health and personal care: * What safeguards should be in place when one's decision-making capacity is assessed? * What happens if one is deemed incapable? * What would it mean to shift our focus from decision-making capacity to decision-making supports?
