Abstract
A entrevista que se segue foi realizada como parte das atividades do nosso pós-doutorado feito na Universidade de Montreal entre agosto de 1997 e fevereiro de 1998. Carol Couture, além professor titular da mesma universidade, é bastante conhecido no mundo francofônico e anglofônico, como um dos mais importantes teóricos e formadores no campo da arquivística. Esta é uma área de pesquisa relativamente nova e ainda pouco contemplada pelos estudos de pós-graduação no mundo latino-americano. O entrevistado é um dos principais responsáveis por uma corrente de pensamento – a arquivística integrada – que modificou a letargia da arquivística tradicional européia, auto-intitulada como uma disciplina auxiliar da história.
