Abstract
When 'Of Substance' published an article five years ago on Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD), these conditions were very poorly understood in Australia. They were routinely misdiagnosed and had no visibility as a public health issue. This contrasted bleakly with the high profile of FASD in Canada and the USA, which for two decades have led the world in research, diagnosis, data collection, treatment and strategies for prevention. So what, if anything, has changed in Australia since 2008?
