Abstract
Cet article souhaite interroger l’émergence de nouvelles conceptions du vivre-ensemble dans les sociétés urbaines d’Ancien Régime à partir du cas de la ville de Marseille. Au travers de mobilisations d’habitants pour s’opposer à des projets d’aménagement de l’espace urbain et à leurs modalités de financement, cette recherche interroge à nouveaux frais les conditions d’appartenance aux communautés citadines sous l’Ancien Régime. Une lecture spatiale et fiscale de ces mobilisations donne ainsi à voir des conceptions alternatives aux régimes légaux de citoyenneté urbaine traditionnellement admis dans les villes des temps modernes, moins fondées sur le respect d’un ensemble de critères juridiques que sur une inscription spatiale au sein de la communauté.
