En este articulo voy a presentar la posicion de Escoto sobre el sacramento de la confesion y estudiar los conceptos filosoficos de la identidad personal, el bien comun y la responsabilidad personal, que son importantes para la ontologia y la filosofia practica de Escoto. El tema principal es el secreto confesional, lo cual es necesario para salvaguardar el bien comun. Una lectura analitica pondra de relieve la innovacion de Escoto en el analisis de un tema discutido ampliamente en la Escolastica.
