Abstract
Londres, 1925: Virginia Woolf publica um dos romances centrais de sua obra ficcional, Mrs. Dalloway. A trama gira em torno de um dia de Clarissa Dalloway, uma dama da alta sociedade inglesa que esta as voltas com seu ecos de seu passado e com uma festa que dara naquela noite. O romance surpreende critica e publico por adotar uma forma pouco explorada pela Literatura de entao, o que fez de Woolf uma das escritoras mais celebres e comentadas de seu tempo.Toronto, 1997: Marleen Gorris exibe seu filme Mrs. Dalloway em uma das sessoes de gala do Toronto International Film Festival, surpreendendo critica e publico por realizar um filme baseado em um romance tido como “inadaptavel”. O presente artigo busca promover o dialogo entre Literatura e Cinema atraves da analise do romance e de sua traducao cinematografica realizada por Gorris a partir do original de Woolf.
