Abstract
Esta investigacion estudia la competitividad de precios del sector turistico en Mexico con respecto a sus principales competidores a nivel internacional en relacion a su diferencial de precios relativos. Se determinaron los indices de competitividad de precios turisticos para Mexico, Estados Unidos, Canada y la Union Europea, a fin de determinar su diferencial de precios para conocer cuales son los paises mas baratos para el turista al momento de convertir las monedas segun el tipo de cambio. Se utilizo una metodologia basada en diversos articulos (Dwyer, Forsyth y Rao, 1999, 2000, 2001), en los que se ha medido la competitividad de precios de destinos turisticos en el mundo, utilizando informacion generada en el Programa de Comparaciones Internacionales del Banco Mundial.
