Abstract

Objetivo: analisar as resistências opostas pelos profissionais de saúde mental em álcool e outras drogas à implementação efetiva da redução de danos nos dispositivos de atenção psicossocial. Métodos: estudo qualitativo e exploratório, realizado com dez participantes, entre agosto e dezembro de 2012, por meio de entrevistas semiestruturadas e adotando-se a hermenêutico-dialética como técnica analítica. Projeto aprovado pelos comitês de ética em pesquisa (CAEE nº 0005.0.196.000-11). Resultados: identificaram-se resistências à abordagem de redução de danos pelos profissionais do serviço, consistentes em atitudes inclinadas à psiquiatria tradicional. Considerações finais: a redução de danos encontra resistências no curso de sua operacionalização pelo atravessamento de concepções alinhadas ao paradigma anterior, que ainda se interpõem nas práticas institucionais.
