Abstract
In the broad context of globalization and internationalization of higher education (HE), there is a consensus on the importance of integrating an intercultural dimension into different sectors of HE in existing literature on internationalization (e.g., de Wit, 2011). However, the role of language(s) and academic language policies in the process of internationalizing HE remains unclear (Jenkins, 2014). Informed by the theory of language policy (Spolsky, 2004, 2009) and plurilingualism (Coste, Moore & Zarate, 2009), this paper draws on a larger study that aims to explore the enactment of academic English language policy in Canadian HE but focus on international students
