Les causes de la crise économique et financière qui a touché la zone euro en 2008-2009 ont été mal analysées. En conséquence, les remèdes adoptés se sont révélés contre-productifs. Les déficits publics se sont creusés et les divergences entre pays du sud et du nord de l’Europe se sont accentuées. Pour relancer la croissance de manière durable dans l’Union européenne, une plus grande solidarité entre États membres s’impose et une stratégie d’investissements publics doit être élaborée.
