Abstract
Studium dotyczące historii sakramentu pokuty, a zwłaszcza jego praktyki duszpasterskiej, odsłania wciąż nowe, interesujące strony. Poznanie ich okazuje się użyteczne dla zrozumienia samego sakramentu, a zwłaszcza sposobu, w jaki na przestrzeni czasu wspólnota kościelna celebrowała ten sakrament na poziomie pasterzy jak i wiernych. Ponowne odczytanie praktyki liturgicznej, którą ukazuje Liber Sacerdotalis Castellaniego stanowi ciekawy i przydatny wkład w zrozumienie, jak przebiegała celebracja sakramentu pokuty w czasach bezpośrednio poprzedzających Sobór Trydencki, oraz pozwala zweryfikować treść i formę celebracji, która pojawiła się następnie w rytuałach posoborowych. Artykuł ukazuje kontekst sakramentu pokuty w świetle Mszału, wydanego po raz pierwszy w 1474, oraz na tle wielkich rytuałów, charakterystycznych dla całego wieku XVI. Czerpanie z tekstu oryginalnego pozwala uchwycić wiele szczegółów, które znajdujemy w 26 rozdziałach całego tekstu.
