Le ministère de l’éducation de la République populaire de Chine et l’Association chinoise pour les sciences et la technologie ont lancé de conserve en 2001 un programme pilote de réforme de l’enseignement des sciences fondé sur l’apprentissage par la pratique, appelé Learning by Doing (Apprendre en faisant). Au cours des huit dernières années, ce projet a eu une influence considérable sur la réforme de l’enseignement des sciences en Chine. Cet article aborde les causes, les buts et les caractéristiques de cette réforme ; en particulier, la mise au point de référentiels de formation appuyée sur les recherches les plus novatrices en sciences cognitives. II souligne que la réforme de l’enseignement des sciences est une entreprise difficile qui exige un engagement à long terme.
