Abstract
L’Internet québécois s’appuie sur une histoire riche et variée qui rend d’autant plus surprenant le fait que la réflexion sociologique s’y soit jusqu’ici très peu intéressée. Le Web québécois, qu’est-ce fondamentalement? Quels sont les traits distinctifs d’un tel microcosme? En adoptant une perspective inspirée de la sociologie politique de la communication, l’article développe l’idée selon laquelle l’Internet se laisse d’abord comprendre à travers sesmodes de régulation, c’est-à-dire la capacité des différents acteurs de structurer les flux d’information. L’Internet québécois apparaît comme unecristallisation éphémère d’équilibres instables, qu’il convient d’étudier dans différentes épreuves de réalité. Trois exemples servent à montrer comment l’Internet québécois n’existe que comme une série d’oppositions à la fois profondes, instables et dynamiques.
