Abstract
Este trabajo analiza la iconografía temprana de La Celestina (Burgos 1499 yValencia 1514) como un modelo de interpretación contemporánea del textode Rojas. Su estudio permite resaltar no sólo el valor artístico de lasimágenes sino su valor crítico-literario. Las imágenes hablan por sí solas ycontribuyen a la resolución de ciertos enigmas del texto o al menos abrenuna nueva línea de estudio. Por ejemplo, en relación a la localización deciertas viviendas de La Celestina e inclusive a si el conjuro mágico deCelestina influye o no en el comportamiento de los personajes. Teniendo encuenta que la temática de La Celestina es muy extensa, este trabajo seconcentra en el estudio del comportamiento delictivo de los personajes. Delas imágenes se analizan detalles concretos y se comparan con el texto yaque el estudio de dicho binomio permite una aproximación más creativa a LaCelestina.
