Cette recherche vise à comprendre la place du tourisme dans les reconversions d'anciennes zones industrielles de Montréal. Nous tentons d'abord de situer le contexte du développement du tourisme urbain montréalais. Puis, un cadre théorique de géographie sociale et critique détermine un processus de recherche par étude de cas multisite. Nous comparons deux territoires, les Shops Angus et Griffintown. De prime abord, les résultats des deux études de cas dévoilent un tourisme de loisir encore peu développé. Cela témoigne d'un secteur économique peu considéré par les acteurs de ces reconversions, qui ne semblent pas croire qu'il offre suffisamment de garanties de succès. En revanche, en regardant de plus près nos cas, nous réalisons que le tourisme existe, mais sous des formes inhabituelles. Entre touristification du quotidien à Griffintown et tourisme industriel aux Technopôle Angus, deux territoires aux logiques de réhabilitations opposées semblent encore confirmer l'hypothèse de Raffestin (1986) selon laquelle « tous les lieux ne sont pas touristiques, mais tous peuvent le devenir » (Raffestin, 1986, p.14). \n______________________________________________________________________________ \nMOTS-CLÉS DE L’AUTEUR : reconversion, territoire, tourisme urbain, Montréal, étude de cas.
