Abstract
O presente artigo busca relacionar a elaboração de políticas culturais com as lutas sociais das populações negras no Brasil, principalmente, aquelas ocorridas a partir de fins dos anos 1970. O objetivo é analisar, a partir de referenciais teóricos e de estudo de caso, como os resultados da implantação dessas políticas podem ser entendidos como uma reparação simbólica para esses grupos historicamente submetidos e silenciados. Assim como os usos possíveis do patrimônio e de exposições museológicas para a produção de conhecimento e ensino de história da escravidão e de cultura afro-brasileira.
