L'objectif de l’étude est d’examiner l’association du fonctionnement réflexif (FR) et de l’orientation mentale maternelle (OMM) à l’attachement de l’enfant, par l’entremise de la sensibilité maternelle. Le FR a été évalué grâce à l’entrevue d’attachement chez l’adulte (AAI), alors que l’OMM et la sensibilité l’ont été lors de situations d’interaction. La situation étrangère, effectuée auprès de 88 dyades mère-enfant, a permis de mesurer l’attachement de l’enfant. Les analyses acheminatoires montrent que le lien entre le FR et l’attachement de l’enfant est médié par la sensibilité. La sensibilité médie également la relation entre l’OMM approprié et l’attachement de l’enfant. Les implications quant aux interventions possibles sont discutées.
