Abstract
A televisão aberta brasileira, com mais de 60 anos de existência vêm sofrendo uma redução na sua audiência nos últimos anos, proveniente da concorrência com outras mídias como a internet, o acesso à televisão paga, mudança de comportamento do telespectador, aumento da escolaridade do brasileiro, metodologias falhas e de pouca abrangência pelo IBOPE e da falta de renovação do conteúdo aberto ao longo das décadas. Observar o desafio das emissoras de televisão e do mercado publicitário em continuar investido nesse meio de comunicação de massa. Diante disso, com auxílio de pesquisas bibliográficas e do programa “Ver TV” da TV Brasil, o presente artigo analisará as causas e consequências da redução da audiência da televisão aberta brasileira e o impacto disso para as emissoras de televisão.Palavras-chave: Audiência.
