Abstract
Les postulats positivistes de base sur la nature de la connaissance scientifique limitent l’utilisation systématique des potentialités de l’information et de la connaissance par les planificateurs. L’auteur dénonce ces postulats et propose une conception de la connaissance et de son usage basée sur des prémisses nouvelles, et une approche différente de la réalité sociale et du rôle de chercheur scientifique. L’auteur suggère enfin dans cet article un modèle de pratique où les planificateurs lancent des débats, reformulent des questions et des objectifs, plutôt que de se replier dans un rôle d’analystes techniques à l’écart des débats publics et des problèmes politiques.
