Introducción: trabajo, culturas del trabajo y territorioEl trabajo, actividad específicamente humana, es trabajo social.Constituye, en su función utilitaria, el vector mediante el cual se resuelve la contradicción entre hombre y naturaleza para conseguir la reproducción social 1 .Además, en su rol ideacional, construye el entramado de las relaciones sociales derivadas de la división social del trabajo y genera discursos legitimadores o impugnadores (una ideología del trabajo, según Anthony, 1977) que se incorporan a la cosmovisión de cada formación social.El trabajo es un universal social presente en todas las configuraciones sociales, actuales, pasadas y posibles: El trabajo es una condición de la existencia del hombre, independientemente de todas las formas de sociedad, una necesidad natural y eterna para mediar en el metabolismo entre el hombre y la naturaleza, esto es, en la vida humana (K.Marx, El Capital, Libro I, cap.1)Mediante el trabajo el hombre transforma el espacio en territorio, en espacio socializado, con intervenciones antrópicas que modifican su morfología, pero que también, y esto interesa en nuestro caso de estudio, le otorgan una función identitaria y simbólica, dialécticamente articulada a su papel como base material de la reproducción social 2 .
