Abstract
?The aim of this study is to analyze La memoire des boites a chansons, which took place in 1996 Quebec through a television series at channel Canal D, then materialized in a double CD with testimonies in the record book. The nostalgia at stake here through the memory process is enhanced by the themes of the songs as much as the place where the songs where normally performed, namely the boites a chansons of the 1960s. As a lieu de memoire, the double CD demonstrates how the canonization of a specific genre and the artists that belong to it can handle a nostalgia context in the task of generation bonding through the evocation of the youth for the baby-boom generation: here we can circumscribe the interactions between canon and nostalgia. In this context, a part of Quebec music industry, namely the one associated with Guy Latraverse’s legacy, diffused an object of consumption governed by a duty of memory.?
