The objective of the present study was to evaluate scrotal dorsal and ventral surface (SST), scrotal dorsal, medial and ventral subcutaneous (SQT) and intratesticular (ITT), arterial-venous intravascular (IVT) temperatures and blood tlow (Eletromagnetic Blood Flowmeter - model T106/T206) at ambient temperatures of 5, 15 and 35°C. Twenty two Aberdeen Angus bulls (approximately 14 months of age) healthful and apt to reproduction were used. Variance analysis was used to determine the effects of ambient temperatures on scrotal, testicular and intravascular temperatures. The means of SST to 5, 15 and 35°e temperatures were 2804±O.3; 30.6±004 and 33.5±O.3°e respectively to dorsal portion and 25.4±O.6;27.2±O.8 and 3204±0o4oe to ventral portion. There was significant increase ofSST following increase of ambient temperature (p<O.OOOI). The averages of SQT to 5, 15 and 35°e temperatures were 30.0±O.7; 34.I±O.5 and 3504±O.2°e respectively to dorsal portion; 28.6±O.8; 32.6±O.5 and 34.6±O.2°e to medial portion and 27 .6±O.7; 31.8±O.5 and 34.O±O.2°e to ventral portion of the testicles. The effects of ambient temperatures in SST were similar in SQT, concluding that there was a general increase of these temperatures in reply to increase of ambient temperature and a trend (p<O, I) to the reduction of temperature gradient around 35°e, indicating lower heat waste between scrotum and environment. ITT values were 32.0±O.7; 34.1±O.2 and 35.2±004oe (dorsal); 32.1±O.6; 34.I±O.2 and 35.4±0.3°e (medial) and 33.1±0.6; 34.9±O.3 and 36.1±0.3°e (ventral) to 5,15 and 35°e temperatures respectively. The averages of arterial and venous IVT were 36.2; 3704 and 39.1°e and 33.3; 34.7 e 36.4C to 5, 15 and 35°e temperatures respectively. The difference of temperature in artery and vein testicular was highly significant (p<O.OOOI).It was demonstrated that ITT and IVT increased in result ofthe rise of ambient temperature. The testicular blood flow average was 25.0±1.8 mLlminute. There was no significant effect (p<O.15) in testicular blood tlow (20.2; 28.1 and 27.5 mLlminute) to 5, 15 and 35°e temperatures respectively. Although it has not changed the testicular blood flow, the increase of ambient temperature raised SST, SQT, ITT and IVT and can be the causing factor of testicular degeneration in bulls.
