This reflection on the diplomacy of children’s well being inaugurated by the League of Nations shows how the questions arising from a transnational approach to the variety of areas, actors and paces provides a fruitful method for the in-depth study of political culture. Moving back and forth between local and international scenes explains the development of survey methods, the formation of Aboriginal diplomacy and a rise in the democratic power of children and may, in other cases, point to less well-known methods used by elites to preserve their power.
