Abstract
Le deuxieme roman de Driss Chraibi, Les Boucs (1955), devoile les dures conditions ou vivent les immigres maghrebins en France, dans les annees qui suivent la deuxieme guerre mondiale. A la suite d’une breve analyse de techniques narratives liees a un symbolisme puissant et souvent cauchemardesque, Cailler s’attache a etudier comment, dans le roman, enchantement et desenchantement – aux sens a la fois quotidiens et quasiment pathologiques – s’entremelent dans un reseau de visions parfois positives, plus souvent, negatives, sur l’environnement et les relations humaines. Il se pourrait que le processus de “barbarisation” depeint dans Les Boucs ne soit pas etranger aux milieux actuels de l’immigration en France et, plus generalement, en Europe.
