Abstract
This chapter focuses on house flies (Musca domestica) breeding in rotting organic matter associated with human habitation and livestock confinements (poultry houses, swine barns, cattle feed lots and dairies) and thereby serving as disease vectors in Canada. It provides an overview of the biological control agents (entomogenous fungi, entomophilic nematodes, parasitoids and predators) that have been used to date for the management of these nuisance pests, and the release and evaluation of effectiveness of the biological control agents. Future research prospects are recommended.
