Thoreau, traduction française de l'essai Walking.« L'as-tu déjà lu ?» demandai-je à Patrick.« Seulement des extraits.Je le garde au cas où le camion tombe en panne.» Patrick Beaulieu est lui-même un Thoreau moderne : un créateur québécois passionné de canots canadiens, de culture populaire mexicaine et de routes secondaires américaines.De plus, Patrick a l'habitude de conduire des véhicules anciens, plus précisément des camions délabrés.C'est vrai, ces camions le conduisent du point A au point B mais, plus important encore, ils sont un élément essentiel de la conception, de la construction et de la réalisation de ses voyages géopoétiques qui se façonnent à travers les lieux explorés et leurs dimensions sociales.Pendant les huit dernières années, Patrick Beaulieu a mis en œuvre les odyssées transfrontières VVV, une trilogie épique en mouvement qui lui a fait suivre la migration évanescente de papillons, les déplacements immatériels du vent et les trajectoires mystérieuses du destin.
