Os parasitos apresentam ciclos biologicos complexos, com a participacao de hospedeiros intermediarios e definitivos. Nesses ciclos sao encontrados diferentes estagios larvais, sendo a maioria, transmitida pelo fato de serem ingeridas por diferentes hospedeiros. Em ambientes aquaticos, os peixes podem ser tanto hospedeiros intermediarios, paratenicos ou definitivos. Em cestoides da Ordem Trypanorhyncha, crustaceos sao considerados como primeiro hospedeiro intermediario apresentando a larva procercoide; o segundo hospedeiro intermediario (peixes marinhos) pode apresentar plerocerco ou plerocercoide. Essas duas larvas sao identificadas atraves da presenca ou ausencia de blastocisto e posicao do escolece. Este estudo objetiva registrar a ocorrencia de larvas de Trypanorhyncha em diferentes especies de peixes comerciais ( Micropogonias furnieri , Pogonias cromis , Pomatomus saltatrix e Cynoscion sp.) no RS. Entre 2014 e 2016 foram coletados peixes atraves de pescadores profissionais nos municipios de Rio Grande e Tramandai, RS. No Laboratorio de Zoologia de Invertebrados do Museu de Ciencias Naturais da ULBRA foram necropsiados e os orgaos foram examinados separadamente. As larvas foram fixadas em A.F.A., coradas com hematoxilina de Delafield e, montadas com balsamo do Canada. As larvas de Trypanorhyncha encontradas no presente estudo foram identificadas como plerocerco (com blastocisto) e plerocercoide (sem blastocisto). Nessas larvas, a oncotaxia permite identificar os cestoides como Homeacanthoidea, Heteracanthoidea, Otobothrioidea ou Poecilacanthoidea. Entre as especies examinadas M. furnieri (n = 3), P. cromis (n = 6), Po. saltatrix (n = 25) e Cynoscion sp. (n = 1), um total de 18 larvas foram encontradas. Nessa amostra, somente Po. saltatrix e Cynoscion sp. estavam parasitados, com 4 e 14 larvas, respectivamente. As larvas de Trypanorhyncha sao encontradas em peixes teleosteos, elasmobrânquios e invertebrados e, os adultos sao parasitos gastrointestinais de elasmobrânquios. Os peixes examinados sao considerados hospedeiros intermediarios de cestoides que apresentam como hospedeiros definitivos os elasmobrânquios.
