Con la llegada de la Sociedad de la Informacion han aparecido nuevas formas de exclusion que se manifiestan por la incapacidad de acceder a la informacion digital o, lo que es practicamente equivalente, acceder a Internet. En este sentido, no solo quedan marginadas aquellas personas cuya discapacidad les dificulta o les impide el acceso a Internet, sino tambien aquellas que no tienen la formacion necesaria para acceder (los denominados analfabetos tecnologicos) y las que carecen de los recursos economicos necesarios para hacerlo. Por lo tanto, discapacidad, formacion y economia se juntan para crear esta nueva exclusion, una exclusion digital, comunmente denominada la brecha digital.En lo que respecta a los motivos fisiologicos, se ha creado un nuevo campo de estudio denominado Accesibilidad Web que tiene por objetivo el desarrollo de tecnologias, normativas, legislacion, etc. que permitan eliminar estas barreras, en este caso digitales, con las que se encuentran las personas con discapacidad a la hora de acceder a Internet.Esta tesis doctoral se centra en la Accesibilidad Web y mas concretamente en la Accesibilidad Audiovisual en la web, esto es, en el estudio de la accesibilidad en la recepcion de los contenidos audiovisuales de la web. Para ello, en esta tesis doctoral se presenta:1) Un estado de la cuestion en cuanto a Accesibilidad Web se refiere2) Un modelo de estudio para la Accesibilidad Web denominado Accesibilidad Centrada en el Usuario (ACU) y particularizado para la Accesibilidad Audiovisual en la Web.3) Un sistema de evaluacion para la Accesibilidad Audiovisual en la Web4) La aplicacion de este sistema de evaluacion sobre los contenidos presentados en las sedes web de las televisiones publicas del Estado Espanol.
