À partir de la dynamique de résistance des intervenants à la gestion technocratique des services sociaux, l’auteur analyse comment les professionnels identifient les contradictions et les enjeux de leur pratique. Il montre les limites de certaines caractéristiques de la conception professionnelle de l’intervention comme idéologie de gestion et fait émerger une dimension manquante de ce modèle d’intervention : la prise en compte des rapports sociaux. Dans une hypothèse de construction, il montre comment une épistémologie de l’intervention plus axée sur les théories de l’action pourrait être une réponse plus adéquate aux problèmes posés.
