Abstract
Cet article propose de jeter un regard sur les raisons ayant mené à la création d’une association non syndicale dans l’industrie du camionnage. L’objectif est d’analysera posteriorila mise sur pied de cette association de routiers en vue de l’obtention d’une voix au chapitre à la Table de concertation gouvernement-industrie sur la sécurité des véhicules lourds. À cette fin, la construction théorique prend appui sur les notions de projet et de représentation non syndicale. Le regroupement est né en ayant pour dessein de faire reconnaître le métier. Il fonctionne en s’assurant de représenter collectivement les routiers, tout en conférant des avantages individuels aux membres. Cette association s’écarte ainsi de la sphère des relations du travail et ne vise pas à se substituer au syndicalisme, mais à opérer en parallèle avec des objectifs différents en matière de représentation dès lors qu’elle regroupe des routiers, peu importe leur statut d’emploi : salariés, travailleurs autonomes, voire employeurs.
