Abstract
Envisager le timbre-poste comme un objet sémiotique, et non simplement comme signe, revient à lui reconnaître un certain rôle au sein d’une pratique signifiante qui englobe entre autres les procès, les actants, le contexte de communication et la structure narrative. Le timbre-poste peut ainsi prédiquer tout en acquérant des significations diverses au sein des processus de communication. Tout en faisant appel au parcours d’intégration proposé par Jacques Fontanille, l’auteur analyse sémiotiquement certaines des pratiques où le timbre peut fonctionner comme un objet sémiotique à part entière telles que l’affranchissement, la reconnaissance et la personnalisation.
