Abstract
Présenter l’école comme un univers à part est un raisonnement largement répandu et qui s’est épanoui à la faveur du mythe de la neutralité scolaire alimentant une sorte d’aveuglement collectif. La loi de mixité scolaire a été vécue comme une fin en soi alors que les cadres institutionnels ne garantissent pas le déroulement égalitaire des scolarités. Or il n’est pas tenable de placer l’école en-dehors du système de fabrication des rapports sociaux de sexes qui s’exercent continûment dans toutes les sphères de la vie sociale. Une des premières manifestations du sexisme de l’école consiste à ignorer les inégalités d’orientation selon les filières sous couvert de neutralité. Ne pas les prendre en charge privilégie l’idéologie du libre choix des individus laquelle fabrique dans les faits les inégalités sexuées à l’ombre d’une mixité de façade.
