L’objectif de notre travail est de modéliser le comportement rhéologique du pétrole brut en utilisant des modèles à contrainte de seuil que sont les modèles de Bingham et de Herschel-Bulkley. Cela nous permis de mettre en relief que le modèle de Herschel-Bulkley représente mieux le comportement rhéologique du pétrole brut étudié que le modèle de Bingham. Nous avons également modélisé le comportement rhéologique en utilisant les modèles de Cross, de Krieger & Dougherty et de Quémada. Les résultats obtenus avec ces trois modèles ont été validés et, on a pu ainsi confirmer les propriétés non newtoniennes du pétrole brut. C’est ce caractère complexe, dû à l’interaction fluide solide, qui nous ne permet pas d’utiliser des modèles traditionnels qui considèrent les fluides homogènes. Pour contourner cette difficulté, nous avons utilisé le Modèle de Phan-Thien et Tanner (MPTT) qui est basé sur une description microstructurelle du fluide et qui nous semble très vraisemblable pour modéliser un tel écoulement.
