Abstract
L’éclatement du social se donnerait d’abord à lire dans la quasi-résolution de l’idéal moderne : l’autonomie du sujet. Ce n’est que secondairement qu’on le référerait encore aux fractures des groupes sociaux, voire aux aléas des processus de rationalisation recouvrant bientôt tout l’espace social. En fait, ce qui serait d’abord atteint, c’est la capacité pour l’individu, autonome mais seul, de se représenter comme sujet d’un groupe ou d’un corps social qui fasse sens pour lui-même et pour autrui. D’où l’urgence d’un travail symbolique de réinscription dans une réalité sociale signifiante auquel pourrait, entre autres, prétendre le travail social.
